On February 24, U.S. Embassy Kabul hosted a blood drive in support of the Afghan National Blood Safety and Transfusion Service (ANBSTS). The blood will be distributed to hospitals in Kabul and to provincial medical treatment facilities. Afghan hospitals rely on blood donations for trauma victims and for patients undergoing other life-saving medical treatments. The U.S. Embassy holds two blood drives each year to benefit the local community. This year, over 200 Embassy staff members participated by giving their blood.
