American Citizen Services Appointments
All visitors to the American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit must make an appointment through the online Appointment System. Appointments are available Sundays and Mondays, except for U.S. and Afghan holidays. Please note that no visa questions will be answered during an ACS appointment. If you need to contact an ACS representative, please email KabulACS@state.gov.
You must bring a form of government-issued photo identification to your appointment.
Please read the specific instructions for passports, reports of birth abroad, or notary services, complete the necessary forms and gather any required documentation. If you arrive at your appointment and do not have the required forms, documents, or payment, we will be unable to process your application or service.
Payment: The ACS Unit only accepts U.S. dollars cash. Please note that the Consular Cashier is unable to accept bills older than 1997, or any bills with rips, tears, or writing on them. For more information on the fees for ACS services, please refer to our Fees page.
Entrance to the Consular Section: The U.S. Embassy is located at Great Masood Road. Consular customers enter the Embassy using the main pedestrian entrance, located opposite of the Afghan National Radio and TV station.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time and be advised that large bags, mobile phones, and other electronic devices are not allowed in the Embassy.
